Tough times, at least for one of us.
See, I just bought a new computer! That should be wonderful news for both us and you, but seeing as the people who put that computer together apparently need to do it twice to get it right, I am now back to using the old workhorse again. This doesn't exactly make me happy, but what the heck.
In other - and, perhaps, better - news: I am told that our wonderful site programmer Robin is working hard to make it possible for us to upload music and videos and whatnot, so that you guys can actually listen to what CCA is doing these days! With luck, and a little help from our friends, this will soon be a reality.
Thanks, as always, for checking up on us. We think we'll be able to provide some new, exciting content for you quite soon!
A brand, spankin' new BlushBox from Frost arrived by UPS today! Much earlier than I expected, too. So now, CCA's tech points have increased dramatically. Sometime later this week we will also get a lot of stuff from Thomann, such as two copies of Cubase 5 and some awesome MIDI controllers (not to mention NI Komplete 6!). This means, of course, that we will soon be able to take our music and sound to the next level!
For me personally, this means a lot. I haven't been able to work very efficiently at all with the old computer (which now splutters and coughs if I so much as try to start it up), so with this new little wonder I think I can work without having to fear a crash every single second. I don't think I'm asking for too much, really.
Also, there is the issue of switching DAWs. Calle is used to the Cubase environment, whereas I have only used Sonar up until this point. Time to invest in some cool tutorial DVDs, I suppose. In any case, learning is fun, and changing my composing environment might actually prove to be a good thing. I suppose it could help me see things from a new perspective.
What all this means for Mystling and Quest! the Musical - the two games we're currently focusing on - is uncertain at the moment, but I'm fairly certain that I will rework both OSTs from the ground up. Quest is closer to the finish line than Mystling, so I'll work on our happy little beat-em-up musical first. Expect to see a game release in a few months' time, together with a soundtrack!
Welcome to our new, shiny site!
Thanks to Robin Berg and Mattias Piiri, we now have a wonderful new place to store info about us. Here, you will be able to read about us, listen to music and sound effects we've produced and, sometime in the future, buy CCA merchandise such as SFX libraries, custom Kontakt instruments, coffee mugs, T-shirts and other fun things we can come up with.
Right now, the basics are up and the rest is a constant work in progress. The portfolio will fill up eventually as we are able to add things, and you will soon be able to listen to what we've done. For now, there are two things you can - and should! - do: Follow our RSS feed by clicking the RSS button (which doesn't work in Google Chrome at the moment but should be okay in other browsers) and follow us on Facebook by clicking the Facebook button (which will take you to our page). By doing this you will ensure that you'll always receive the latest CCA news!
You will also be able to see our Twitter feed here to the right. If you want to follow us on Twitter, follow CoolCoreAudio - there might be a button for it in the future.
Hope to see you again soon!
